Students who wish to get enrolled in US University or college can apply for student visa after getting necessary approval documentation from the institution where they have been accepted.
Student visas are basically three types, F-1 or Student visa, M-1 or Student visa and J-1 or Exchange visitor visa.
F-1, or Student Visa: This visa is the most common for those who wish to engage in academic studies in the United States. It is for people who want to study at an accredited U.S. college or university or to study English at a university or intensive English language institute.

The exchange visitor program J visa is designed to promote the interchange of persons, knowledge, and skills in the fields of education, arts, and sciences.
